Cockroach Control

Schedule Spider Control

Cockroaches are one of those pests people usually try to ignore at first.

Then you start seeing them again.

Maybe it is a large roach in the garage after rain. Maybe it is smaller roaches showing up around the kitchen at night. Either way, once they start becoming a regular thing, it is time to deal with the problem properly.

Johnston County cockroach control

At Kumo Pest, we treat cockroach problems by figuring out where the activity is coming from, what type of roach you are dealing with, and what conditions around the house are attracting them in the first place.

Our pest control programs are built around the pests we actually deal with here in North Carolina, not generic treatments copied from somewhere else. We focus heavily on exterior prevention to stop roaches before they get inside, while also offering targeted treatments for more serious infestations like German roaches in kitchens and pantry areas.

Not All Cockroaches Are the Same

Different roaches usually mean different treatment.

Some mostly stay outside and wander in occasionally. Others can start breeding inside kitchens, bathrooms, cabinets, and wall voids if the problem is not handled correctly.

The larger roaches people see around Wake and Johnston County are usually:

  • American cockroaches
  • Oriental cockroaches
  • Smokey Brown cockroaches

Those outdoor roaches are covered under all of our pest control programs.

German roaches are a different situation.

They are smaller, spread fast, and usually show up around kitchens, appliances, bathrooms, cabinets, and pantry areas. Because they take a much more involved treatment process, German roach treatment is only included with our Gold Package.

Why Roaches Keep Coming Back

Most of the larger roaches people see are coming from outside.

If the conditions around the house continue to attract them, they usually keep coming back, no matter how many sprays or traps are used indoors. That’s usually why people feel like the problem never fully goes away.

In North Carolina, cockroaches love crawl spaces, mulch beds, damp garages, drains, wood piles, attics, and shaded areas around the foundation.

Killing the ones you see inside does not always solve the problem outside, which is why we focus so heavily on exterior treatments and prevention.

How Kumo Pest Handles Cockroach Control

When we treat for roaches, we’re looking for where they’re hiding, where they’re getting moisture, and how they’re getting inside the house.

Exterior Barrier Treatments

For American, Oriental, and Smokey Brown roaches, our technicians create a protective treatment barrier around the exterior of the home.

This treatment focuses on the areas where roaches travel and hide, including foundations, crawl space entrances, garage edges, mulch beds, porches, utility penetrations, and other moisture-prone areas.

Most of the time, we try to stop them outside before they get inside the house.

German roaches have to be treated much differently from outdoor roaches.

These infestations are treated using targeted applications around kitchens, cabinets, appliances, bathrooms, and pantry areas. Treatments may include baits, crack-and-crevice applications, monitoring traps, and follow-up service depending on the severity of the activity.

German roaches spread fast, so the treatment has to be thorough, or they usually come right back.

Which Kumo Pest Plan Covers Cockroaches?

All three of Kumo’s pest control programs include roach coverage, but the level of treatment depends on the species involved and where the infestation is located.

  • Why Homeowners Choose Kumo Pest

Usually, by the time people call us, they have already tried store-bought sprays or traps, and the roaches keep coming back. Roach control usually becomes much more manageable once the problem is treated at the source instead of just reacting to the bugs you happen to see.

We Know How Roaches Behave in North Carolina

Roach activity in Wake and Johnston Counties is heavily influenced by humidity, crawl spaces, wooded neighborhoods, moisture, and long, warm seasons.

We understand where these pests hide, how they enter homes, and what treatments work best for local conditions.

    Prevention Matters More Than Reaction

Most people do not want to wait until they see roaches regularly indoors.

Our programs are designed around ongoing prevention that lowers pest pressure around the property before infestations develop.

    Treatments Built Around Real Homes

    Every home is different.

A heavily wooded property in Clayton behaves differently than a slab home in Garner or a newer subdivision in Fuquay-Varina. Our technicians adjust treatments based on the conditions around your property, rather than treating every house exactly the same.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cockroach Control

    Are palmetto bugs cockroaches?

Yes. In North Carolina, the term “palmetto bug” is commonly used for large outdoor cockroaches like American or Smokey Brown roaches.

Heavy rain often drives outdoor roaches out of drains, mulch, crawl spaces, and other damp hiding places, increasing the chance they will enter homes.

Absolutely. Many outdoor roaches enter homes in search of moisture or shelter, even in very clean homes.

German cockroaches live and reproduce indoors near food and moisture sources. They spread quickly and require a much more targeted treatment process than standard outdoor roach control.

German roach treatment is included under Kumo’s Gold Package.
